Nine years and still alive and kicking
I bought these sunflower seeds in 2017, and because I have far more packets of seeds than I have time to sow, they’ve not seen the light of day since I bought them. Which must have helped because they all germinated anyway.
By late August, they were towering inside the TimberTunnel and producing beautiful, smallish but perfectly formed burnt-orange flowers.
I’ll save some of this year’s seed for the Moffat Seed Library, leave some for the blue tits and put some aside for another nine years or so, to see whether it can repeat the performance.
